We are into Spring and loving it. We spend a lot of time exploring the small forest on the side of our house, and I am working on designing a treehouse for the kids. We have so much more privacy with the leaves on the trees and I can barely see our neighbors now.
Both the kids are terrific and growing up really fast. Isabella had a great 6th dinosaur birthday party! has one month left of school, and then she's officially a first grader. She lost both top front teeth, and looks and sounds really cute. She is reading very well and loves reading anything she can get her hands on. She learned how to ride a bike, thanks to Mike, who taught her in one afternoon! We had our first visitors from Chicago, my friend Alison drove up with her two boys, Zachary and Nathan. Zachary and Isabella were buddies from back when they were 2.5 years old. We all had a blast! Summer is approaching fast, and Isabella will be going to a variety of camps-- engineering camp at The Works, Camp Invention, Nature camp, and tennis camp. We are also attending her Auntie Lindsay's wedding in Cape Cod, and taking her annual trip to Sandy Island in July.
William is hilarious these days. He has such a great sense of humor and loves when he can make us laugh. You have seen his pretend "mad face" in the previous post. Now his thing is running around yelling "what the!" and calling Mike, "Mike!". He has started stringing two words together and is able to communicate his wants quite well. His weight has finally plateaued and he's now only in the 85% for weight, but 90% for height. A big and healthy boy.
Mike and I have re-established weekly date nights (actually afternoons) and enjoy being outdoors during these special times. I have a new bike, so we've gone through some of the awesome parks and trails in Eden Prairie. We've also visited some of the art museums in Minneapolis and tried some new restaurants in the city.
