Isabella has started waking up in the middle of the night again. I think she's afraid of the dark. She asks me to sleep with her, and usually I'm so tired that I just plop down next to her for the rest of the night. I know this is establishing a habit that may be very hard for her to break later. anyone have any advice, other than letting her cry herself back to sleep? She still dislikes dolls and stuffed animals of any kind, otherwise I'd try to get her to accept that as a substitute in the middle of the night. Sometimes she likes to hug her plastic sippy cup of water while falling asleep, or a wooden airplane or car. so sad. She's also recently grown attached to a Christmas tree ornament of a trout. She's been carrying that around, and the other day, when I told her we were going grocery shopping, she looked at her ornament and said "Come on, fish, let's go to the store!". I'm glad she has another little "friend".

Hi Angela,
we got Owen a doggie flash light from Costco. it seems to help him when he's afraid of the dark. :)

Thanks! I think I will try that. It's much more environmentally-friendly than leaving the hall light on all night (which is what we've been doing and seems to help).
