I love our Saturday morning ritual of going to the gym with Mike and Isabella, and then to the diner afterwards to eat foods like chicken fried steak and ruin our previous hour's efforts. Isabella likes the gym, too. They have a babysitting service with a great play area. When we go there, she runs off without looking back, and when I return to pick her up after my workout, she doesn't want to leave.
We're also taking a swimming class there once a week... to be honest, she hates it. She is the one child there that screams all through the class. One thing about our girl is that she HATES being told what to do and if you try to force her to do something she doesn't want to, she will let you and every in the room remember it for at least 15 minutes after you've stopped trying. I need to make sure she still has fun, or she'll be afraid of water, which is totally counterproductive. I'm going to take her to open swim today to play, but I'll follow her lead.
Yesterday, Mike also took Isabella to the Children's Museum while I got some time to myself. Thank you!! I know it is tiring for adults to go there (it's such a zoo of children), and I appreciate it. Here's a pic from the trip.
We also had a great night (and yummy food) at our friends' home, actually the home of Mike's previous boss, Rick. They have a beautiful place and cute pets... a dachshund (sp?), some kind of spaniel, and a calico cat. Isabella lovedlovedloved the dogs... she immediately got down on all fours and pretended to be a dog with them. I think she needs a pet!
